Drawing Jerusalem is more than rows of sandstone buildings with uniform red roofs. A gnarled olive branch or a grinding mill smoothed by the years is always resting on the background of something new and vibrant. That fusion of past and present, ancient and modern is an ever present dance.
And the sky. The sky, both contemplative and full of love, embracing all the city’s inhabitants. I need to find the purest of blues to do it justice.
