Glance into any Jerusalem window. You’ll see heirlooms that imbue the Jewish home with a sense of legacy and grandeur: A tattered prayer shawl, books of study, a ram’s horn Shofar. The fruit trees and grapevines – bursting with symbolism – bear the pride of this land. I can feel the bond that exists between the Jewish nation, their rituals and their history.
I have utilized a vintage color-palette that recalls the inherent value of tradition and nostalgia. Mortar-and-pestle may concretize feelings of defeat, but the Siddur, harp and candle’s flame remind us of prayer, song and hope.
